Matador Spotlight: Tom Holland
At Matador, our people are what power the platform. From innovation and client success to technology and leadership, every person plays a vital role in shaping the future of how dealerships connect and communicate.
Today, we’re spotlighting Tom Holland, Account Manager and Performance Manager, whose dedication to client success, data-driven mindset, and leadership in performance strategy help dealerships unlock new levels of efficiency, engagement, and profitability.
Q: Tell us about your role at Matador.
As an Account Manager and Performance Manager at Matador, I oversee ongoing client relationships and ensure our dealer partners maximize ROI through our AI solutions.
In my Performance Manager role, I work directly with dealerships to enhance lead engagement and conversion, leveraging data insights, automation strategies, and AI optimization to drive measurable sales growth.
As an Account Manager, I act as the main point of contact for all sales-related matters with our existing clients, whether that’s coordinating renewals, addressing account needs, or introducing new solutions that align with their evolving business goals.
My combined focus on performance improvement and client success allows me to provide a full-service partnership experience. My main goals are to help dealers streamline operations, increase efficiency, and close more deals through intelligent automation.
Q: What excites you most about working in automotive AI technology?
When I started in the auto industry in 2013, none of these AI tools were available. Everything relied on manual follow-up, instinct, and persistence. Seeing how far we’ve come since then is what excites me most about working in automotive AI technology today.
It’s transforming one of the most relationship-driven industries into something smarter, faster, and more personalized without losing the human touch. I love being part of a space where technology and customer experience intersect. AI gives us the ability to help dealers connect with customers in real time, anticipate their needs, and make every interaction more meaningful and efficient.
Q: Can you share a memorable moment or proud achievement since joining Matador?
The first thing that comes to mind was being able to recommend one of my former BDC agents from my previous dealership position to a job here at Matador. He was later hired as a Performance Manager, and it’s been really fulfilling to watch him grow and succeed in this new role.
Seeing someone I mentored in the past thrive in a different part of the automotive industry, especially within the same company, has been a proud moment for me. It’s a great reminder of how much impact we can have on each other’s careers when we invest in the people around us.
Q: How does Matador’s culture influence your daily work experience?
Matador’s culture really thrives on collaboration and shared experience. I’m constantly learning from teammates who bring a wealth of automotive knowledge to the table. That collective expertise makes problem-solving faster, our ideas stronger, and ultimately helps me deliver more value to our dealer partners every day.
Q: What’s your favorite feature of the Matador platform, and why?
I love the ability to tag different users into conversations. This was extremely helpful when I was using Matador at the dealership prior to working here. You can tag a manager or colleague into a conversation whenever needed and continue on with your daily tasks.
This feature alone is a great internal communication tool, far more efficient than calling extensions or tracking someone down in person.
Q: Outside of work, what passions or hobbies energize you?
My wife and I have three amazing kids, all under the age of five, and they keep us plenty busy. We’re blessed to live in Florida and take full advantage of the year-round sunshine.
Q: Fun fact about you?
I am not Spider-Man, nor have I ever played Spider-Man.
Tom’s commitment to partnership, performance, and innovation perfectly reflects Matador’s mission to help dealerships thrive in a changing industry. His drive to connect technology with real results and people with opportunities embodies what makes Matador’s culture so strong: collaboration, curiosity, and progress.
