PBS covers two jobs at once: service data (repair orders, RO status, appointments) plus inventory ingestion over the PBS API when no Tier 1 website feed is available.

Why It Matters
What Changes With PBS Systems Connected
PBS is one of the few connections that spans both the service bay and the vehicle list, which makes it unusually efficient to set up. On the service side you get the full picture: the RO as it is written, its status as it moves, and the history behind it. On the inventory side the PBS API can act as a Tier 2 source, so a store whose website provider has no direct feed still gets vehicle data into Matador and the AI can answer availability questions accurately.
1
Connect
Matador is granted read access to PBS Systems service data: repair orders, status, appointments.
2
Set the triggers
Choose what fires a message: RO closed, service declined, mileage interval, months since last visit.
3
Follow up automatically
Customers get messages tied to real shop events, and replies come back into one inbox.

Questions Worth Asking
Can PBS supply my inventory as well as service data?▾
Yes. Inventory ingestion over the PBS API is available as a Tier 2 source. We use it when your website provider has no direct Tier 1 feed. A Tier 1 feed is preferred where one exists, because VDP links and photos are more reliable.
Does Matador write service appointments into PBS?▾
No. Service appointments, repair orders and RO status are read from PBS; appointments are not pushed back into the DMS.
What automations can run off PBS service history?▾
Live and historical both. Live status drives ready-for-pickup and declined-service messages; historical data drives lapsed customer and mileage-interval campaigns.
How long does it take to connect?▾
Most stores connect their stack in under an hour and are live within days. Our team handles the configuration: you need a kickoff call and credentials for the systems you want connected.
