Morning Sarah — the '24 XLE now takes the loyalty rate: $38/mo less than the number that gave you pause. And the silver one is still here. Fresh look?

How It Works
From Gone Quiet to Back in the Showroom
1
A lead stalls or goes quiet
QUIET · 6 DAYSwas hot
Marcus C. · "let me think about it…"
Mid-conversation silence, a no-show, "I'll let you know": it watches every open thread and knows the difference between busy and gone.
2
It decides who's worth waking
priority.rank: this morning Sarah 94 · offer expiring ✓ Marcus 81 · cold mid-convo Dev 40 · early browser · wait
Every quiet thread scored daily: intent shown, deal size, days silent, odds of coming back. The hottest revivals surface first; the rest wait their turn.
3
It reaches back with a reason
Heads up: the trade bonus on your RAV4 ends the 31st. Quick look Saturday?✦ sent when she actually reads texts
An expiring offer, a price move, fresh trade-in bonuses, a similar unit: something genuinely new, over text or email, whichever thread the customer actually lives in. Never "just checking in."
4
Re-engages, books or hands off
✦
Sarah's back → AI Reply takes the thread✓ books Saturday · rep notified
The moment they respond, it books the visit or hands the live thread back to AI Reply, with the whole history attached and your rep pinged if it's hot.
The Tech Underneath
Three Decisions, Made Intelligently: Who. When. What.
Anyone can schedule a drip. AI Follow-Up is the one agent on the team that's allowed to double-text, and it earns it by making the calls a great BDC manager would make: which cold thread gets attention today, at what hour, with which reason. Every conversation, every morning.
WHO
It ranks your entire cold pipeline
Every quiet thread scored daily on intent, deal size, silence length, and the odds of coming back. The $58k buyer who ghosted Tuesday outranks the tire-kicker from March, automatically.
WHEN
Timing learned from behavior
Not "day 3 because the drip says so." It learns when each customer actually reads and replies (Saturday mornings, weekday lunches) respects quiet hours, and waits when waiting is the smarter play.
WHAT
A real reason to text back
It hunts your store for news worth sending: an expiring factory offer, a price drop on their exact unit, fresh trade-in bonuses, a similar car that just landed. Content revives threads: "just checking in" buries them.
THEN
Books it, or hands it back hot
On re-engagement it books the visit directly or passes the live thread to AI Reply with full context. High-intent revivals ping your rep the moment they wake up.
Watch it think: 214 quiet threads, one morning
The Saturday 9 AM sweep behind the conversation in the hero.

Zero Setup Required
No Sequences. No Scripts. One Toggle.
This is Matador's most agentic agent: there's no cadence builder because it doesn't need one. Flip it on and it reads every conversation, judges the moment, and does the thinking the way your best BDC manager would, if they had infinite memory.
✓One-toggle setup: no sequences to build, no scripts to write. Turn it on and every open conversation is covered.
✓It keeps every promise: "get back to me in a week" means it waits the week, then circles back on the day.
✓SMS and email, independently: each touch scheduled on its own clock, visible right inside the conversation.
✓Channel matching: email threads stay in email, texts stay in text; replies land where the customer actually is.
✓Guardrails built in: quiet hours, considerate timing, instant and permanent stop on request.

One of the Highest Re-Engagement Rates in Automotive
Internet lead follow-up is where most stores bleed: every cold lead is a lead you already paid for. Reviving one costs nothing, while losing one quietly costs the whole deal. That's why AI Follow-Up treats your quiet pipeline like the asset it is.

Your CRM is full of people who said "I'll let you know" and meant it. The timing just wasn't right yet. Staying top of mind, intelligently, is how those threads come back as appointments instead of aging into the archive.

From the Stores
★★★★★
"Biggest problem was follow up, and since Matador, it's been significantly better. Better follow up and more involvement from Sales People with clients. That it's 100% worth it. It's helped us on weekends when we're closed, Holidays, late nights when we have those random leads coming in at 3AM."

"Better follow up, great chat feature on website. Very happy with both. Much higher engagement and better response times. Definitely. It's a great product, and you're consistently trying to make it better."

The Questions Dealers Ask
Straight Answers
What exactly is AI Follow-Up?▾
The agent for cold conversations. When a thread goes unanswered, it analyzes whether and when to nudge: “Hey Val, just checking in to see if you had a chance to look at those EVs.”
How do I configure it?▾
You don’t. It’s a toggle: no instructions, no sequences, no scripts. The judgment is managed agentically on the back end.
How does it decide when to follow up?▾
It reads the conversation for timing cues. “I’ll get back to you next week” → it waits the week. “Let me think about it” → typically 1–3 days. Scheduled touches are visible right in the conversation view: “email in ~4 days, SMS in ~6.”
What channels does it use?▾
SMS and email, and it stays in the thread the customer used. If they replied by email, the follow-up arrives by email.
Is this the agent that double-texts?▾
Yes, deliberately. It follows up after an unanswered AI message and after the customer’s own last message, so no thread dies silently.
How long will it keep working a lead?▾
Up to about 180 days of personalized follow-up that remembers the whole conversation. That long tail is a key differentiator: most tools have no real strategy past 90 days.
How is it different from AI Engage?▾
Engage works leads who have never responded: new-lead sequences. Follow-Up works leads who were in a conversation that went cold, typically stepping in about 12 hours after an exchange stalls.
Can I choose SMS versus email for follow-ups?▾
Not currently: channel selection is automatic and follows the customer’s channel. A dealer-configurable preference is under consideration.
Should my AI behavior instructions live here?▾
No. Customer-question behavior belongs in AI Reply’s base prompt and intents. Splitting instructions across agents is how stores end up with ten pages of contradictions and unpredictable output.
What results does it produce?▾
Revived leads, measurably. One recent follow-up campaign across 94 dormant conversations pulled a 46% reply rate. Your dashboard tracks re-engagement rate and average days dormant per store.
